Spring for Cotton

I recently joined a sew along, Spring for Cotton, hosted by Lucky Lucille.

I had planned to create a dress from Simplicity 1459.

However, I spent the time needed for mocking up the dress, on painting my stairwell. (Pictures will be posted as soon as I get my front door painted. 🙂

I also wanted to use a border print fabric, but I couldn’t find any I liked.

So I used my go to pattern. Vogue 8789.

I used a black, floral, 100% cotton fabric.

Matilda is a few sizes smaller than me, so the dress doesn’t hang as well as it should.

Since I wasn’t able to get pictures of me in the dress, in time for the ending of the Spring for Cotton, sew along, I decided to use it for my first, Me Made May, outfit.

I plan to post a picture every day, of me, wearing something I have made.

Starting with this dress, later on this day.

Stayed tuned!

Do you wear the things that you make?

I would love to see your pictures.
