I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember. Being 50, that’s a lot of years of memories. I think I started making my own clothes back in Jr High, aka Middle School. Over the years my body has changed, kids, emergency hysterectomy and now menopause. This last has been the most challenging to sew for. As my body is recovering from the surgery, it will be a year July 28, the changes can be quite annoying. For the first time in my life, I have love handles and a spare tire. Where did these come from? hrrmph! Oh well, the great thing about sewing my own clothes, is that I can adjust the clothes to fit me.
Although I can draft my own patterns, I usually buy patterns and make the needed adjustments. Speaking of patterns, I have found that the PDFs that are now available, are really the best deal. Sure I could buy the patterns when they are on sale , (I still do, now and then.) but pieces end up missing or I need to make changes between projects. Having the downloaded pattern on my hard drive is a perfect solution.
